Checks & Dogs & Rock n’ Roll

Alfie has just moved into a big boy bed. It was long overdue, but we stalled due to moving and then working out spare sleeping logistics (where to put Nanna when she visits…). But when I noticed he couldn’t roll over without risk of falling out I realised he truly had outgrown his junior nest. We opted for this cheap but very cheerful John Lewis number with which we are very happy, and after a little furniture foxtrot his room actually seems more spacious.

And so to accessories…!  I have always had in mind that I would make him a new duvet set myself so I have been scouring shops and sites for fabric inspiration. There are many gorgeous little-boy patterns, from retro robots to Kidston cowboys but it was this Linwood Control Freak print which really grabbed me. Look at all the knobs and switches!!

And then there is Danger Keep Out, perhaps for the pre-sulk years? And not forgetting classic cars and tractors in The Race (top)

The entire range is quite lovely to be honest but sadly of course (sniff) they are trade only (sob)  and therefore won’t supply l’il ol’ me for my homework project. I did manage to lay my hands on a couple of sample cuts though, with which I shall do something creative… and small…

And so my hunt continues.
